Have you ever wished that you and your groom’s list of invitees could somehow become acquainted before the wedding? Thanks to a new app they can! Known as Weduary, the app allows bride and groom-to-bes to create a social website that their guests can use to connect to each other before the day of the wedding.

Once couples have designed their site they are able to invite their guests using Facebook, which then allows each guest to see which of their Facebook friends will also be attending. It also shows each guest who they have common interests and mutual friends with. There is even a special section known as “Flirt” which lets guests without dates see who else will be showing up minus a plus one. Guests also get to create a profile that includes: what hotel they are staying in, when they are arriving, and a memorable story about the bride and groom.

If you are ready for your guests to begin getting to know one another visit Weduary and create your social site today!

Did you and your groom choose a summer wedding date? If so, as the bride you’ve probably been worrying about sweating your makeup off in the Kansas City heat and humidity whether your entire ceremony is outside or if you’ll only be walking out to get in the car. We know how important it is for you to look amazing for every second of your big day, so no matter if you or a makeup artist will be doing your makeup we’d like to share a few tips on how to make you makeup last during your summer wedding.

Hydrate your skin with an oil-free moisturizer.

Apply an oil-absorbing primer as a base to help your makeup go on smoother and last longer.

Dust your face with translucent powder before using foundation and again after.

Use powder based foundation, eye shadow, blush and bronzer since it will absorb oil.

Wear a waterproof mascara to hold up through sweat and tears.

Lock your makeup in place by spritzing on a setting spray designed to help offset the effects of heat and humidity.

Have you heard of any other tips to help makeup last during a summer wedding? If so, share them in the comments section below!

If you are a little shaky on the wedding rehearsal dinner here’s a quick run down on everything you need to know.

-What is it? A dinner that traditionally takes place the eve of your wedding day, following the run-through of your ceremony at the venue. It’s usually less formal than your reception dinner, but it can be as casual or over-the-top as you would like.

-Who hosts it? Typically the groom’s parents host the dinner, but these days it’s common for the bride and groom to split the cost or even for both sets of parents to share the responsibility.

-Who’s invited? The members of your wedding party and their spouses, immediate family members, and the parents of any children partaking in your ceremony.

What happens? Parents usually give toasts, as do the bride and groom thanking those participating in their special day. This is also the time in which the gifts are presented to members of the wedding party. Some couples even decide to play a slide show of pictures chronicling their relationship thus far.

To schedule a consultation for having your rehearsal dinner at Renee Kelly’s at Caenen Castle give us a call at 913-631-4100.
